Day One

Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews

Upon arrival in Scotland you will be transported to the Home of Golf, St Andrews. This first day will be your recuperation day. This gives you the perfect opportunity should you wish to take to explore the town of St Andrews itself. The town, as you would imagine, boasts a fantastic collection of golf equipment and clothing stores which you may wish to purchase before you hit the links. The town also has a selection of quaint pubs and restaurants which may be worth a visit to allow you to toast to your arrival in the Mecca of Golf.

You will spend your time here in the Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews. The Fairmont Hotel boasts 211 luxury rooms within its grand yet modern build. The hotel was constructed in 2001 on the wild cliffs of the Scottish Eastern Coast allowing the hotel to look over the home of golf itself. The hotel  is surrounded by 520 acres of ground which it has tactically designed to allow for placement of its two fantastic links courses; The Torrance and The Kittocks. The five star property also holds two restaurants, a spa with 10 treatment rooms, bars and conference rooms.

Day Two

Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews

New Course St Andrews

Awaking in your luxury room on your first full day in St Andrews you will be given the chance to wear any of your purchases from day one. You will travel into the town itself and play the New Course, St Andrews. Despite having the name of “The New Course” it is certainly the oldest new course in the world and the second oldest course in St Andrews. The course was named the New Course to cease confusion between this course – constructed in 1895 by then greenkeeper Old Tom Morris – and its famous neighbour, the Old Course. This 6625 car par 71 course offers tight undulating fairways with greens that are a challenge to most when trying to get the ball in the hole. It truly is a classic test of links golf.

After your round you will have the chance to test or hone your skills at the Himalayas Putting Green or perhaps a trip to the range to improve your ball striking after a tough test of golf.

Day Three

Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews

Castle Course, St Andrews

On day three you will venture the short distance to The Castle Course which neighbours the complex at the Fairmont Hotel. This new age links course is the youngest golf course in the St Andrews Links collection, yet, has already become one of the finest golf courses in Scotland. This 6759 yard par 71 golf course is set atop the rugged cliffs overlooking the town of St Andrews nestled between large sand dunes. With many blind shots a caddy is advised for this fantastic example of a modern links with spectacular views.

Day Four

Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews

Kingsbarnes Golf Links, Kingsbarnes

Day four sees you visit another modern links course; although technically not in St Andrews, Kingsbarnes lies a short distance east of the famous golfing town. Despite not being fully listed as a St Andrews course this is certainly not a golf course to pass up with many saying that this is the finest links course in Scotland if not the world. Having joined as a venue on the European Tour this course serves as one of the trilogy of hosts for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship which it shares with The Old Course and Carnoustie. The Alfred Dunhill Links is a pro-am event which is a favourite with many professionals on the season calendar. The course also played host to the 2017 Ricoh Woman’s British Open.

This 7224 yard par 72 links course truly shows that a young course can still give you one of the finest rounds you will play during your trip.

Day Five

Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews

Jubilee Course, St Andrews

Day five will see you play what was originally the third course at these famous links. Originally constructed for ladies and beginners this course was converted to hold a championship layout in 1988 and is commonly regarded as the toughest course at St Andrews. The course is perfectly situated between the New Course and the North Sea and stacks up at 6742 with a par of 72.

Day Six

Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews

The Old Course, St Andrews

For your final full day in St Andrews we have ensured that you have saved the best for last. The Old Course is a bucket list must for any golfer having seen some of the games greats walk its undulating fairways. Former World Number One Tiger Woods once said that if he could only play one golf course for the rest of his life then it would be the Old Course at St Andrews. It is the only major venue which remains a public golf course to this day, which of course does ensure that it is difficult to secure a time.

“The Cathedral of Golf” and oldest course in the world has a length of 7,305 yards and has a par of 72. This true test of ancient links golf allows players to appreciate the talents of the professionals as you watch some of the best short game players you know struggle to figure out these famous greens. There really is no explanation needed to introduce what is the most famous golf course in the world.

Day Seven

Unfortunately, this is the day that your St Andrews adventure must end. You will have some time to once more venture around the town ensuring you collect any gifts for friends and family as well as, of course, collecting some memorabilia for yourself from this unforgettable experience. Dependant on your time of departure and your departure location we shall ensure to transport you to this destination with plenty of time allocated to ensure you have an unhurried and stress free departure.
